A new deluxe hotel is to be opened in Saint Petersburg in 2009 and is to be located in the Lobanovy-Rostovskie family’s palace known as the «House With Lions». The five-star hotel will be managed by the Canadian hotel operating company Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.
The building of the hotel was erected in the 19th century by the architect Auguste Montferrand, the author of the famous St Isaac’s Cathedral, and is now under the President’s administrative department.
The hotel’s total area is expected to amount to 26 600 sq m housing 183 spacious rooms and suites (from 42 sq m on), including Presidential apartments of 240 sq m. The hotel’s infrastructure will also embrace a restaurant and a four-level SPA complex.
The aggregate cost of the palace’s recontruction is supposed to total an estimate of $135 mln.
Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts is the leading world operator specializing on the deluxe hotels management. The company was founded in 1960 managing 78 hotels at present, 30 more hotels being under construction (inc. 2 hotels in Moscow).
